Study and self-assessment platforms
Two free tools to help you prepare for the Open Semester of the degree programs in Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine.
You'll find lessons, exercises in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, self-assessment tools, and exam simulations.
These platforms complement university lectures and the training activities offered by the universities.
Semestre Aperto Platform
The platform dedicated to preparing students for the Open Semester, promoted by CRUI in collaboration with MUR and developed through the interuniversity consortium CISIA.
- Exercises and assessments in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology for self-assessing incoming knowledge
- Practice exercises based on the Syllabi of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and introductory Biochemistry (academic year 2026/2027)
- Simulations of proficiency exams in terms of number of questions, question type, and test duration
MOOD Platform
An initiative funded by MUR involving 44 universities, promoted by the Standing Conferences of degree programs in Medicine and Surgery and in Dentistry.
- Over 140 hours of video lessons on micro-topics in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- In addition to theory, dozens of educational storytelling videos with testimonials
- Free "thefaculty" app: subject-based training, simulations and exercises with leaderboards, mind maps, and adaptive study plans
Both initiatives provide concrete, accessible, and free tools for gradual and informed preparation.
The platforms are complementary: they can be used together during the orientation and preparation process.
